Why must blood be shed in order to show divine worship, what is wrong with a simple handshake, or a simple word of mouth? I see no need to kill, taking a life in order to indicate loyalty. I feel that this ancient demand for burnt animal offerings had more to it, than simple worship, or to make amends for sin. I feel that these animal offerings were somehow food in one manner or the other for these gods. In these ‘offerings,’ were the smell, the taste, the enjoyment, that the gods had to have.

I think our primary purpose, was to provide these gods with these ’offerings.’ They appeared to hold a very prominent position in the lives of our ancient ancestors. What sort of being is it, that would enjoy, such as this. That is a very silly question, is it not? Review the human as we are today.

Look at the lives we humans live, do we not enjoy the smell, the taste of a good steak, and where pray tell does that steak come from, of course, a cow. Where does that pork chop originate? From a very unfortunate hog. We as humans have to slaughter live beings, shed life’s blood, in order to live. So, are we much different from those distant gods, that reside in the far off heavens? As I have speculated in another article, ‘we, are the gods.’ It is just that our methods of obtaining this flesh, is far more sophisticated than were those of old.
Exod. 29
[18] And thou shalt burn the whole ram upon the altar: it is a burnt offering unto the LORD: it is a sweet savour, an offering made by fire unto the LORD.

[25] And thou shalt receive them of their hands, and burn them upon the altar for a burnt offering, for a sweet savour before the LORD: it is an offering made by fire unto the LORD.

[41] And the other lamb thou shalt offer at even, and shalt do thereto according to the meat offering of the morning, and according to the drink offering thereof, for a sweet savour, an offering made by fire unto the LORD.
In the world of today, there are many different religions, cults, witchcraft, and Satanic practices, all of which request something from their followers, which in most cases, is financial.

Yet, in my scant studies of the olden days prior to Jesus, I have never witnessed a more barbaric practice than was done in those days. It is beyond my wildest imagination that One that is Holy, One that is so perfect, One that created such a miraculous creation, would require from people what was required. Not only required, but demanded.
It is hard for me to understand a God, one that required such gory dealings with blood, guts and dung, in worship. Why should innocent animals be sacrificed in this manner? What is the purpose of such a terrible setting? The gods are suppose to be divine, spiritual, not of flesh and blood, why do they need, require, want, desire such as this? Of course, we humans are not much different with our steaks and pork chops, just more sophisticated.

In one case, a human burnt sacrifice was demanded by the Lord. He gave the command to Abraham to offer up his only son as a burnt offering.
[1] And it came to pass after these things, that God did tempt Abraham, and said unto him, Abraham: and he said, Behold, here I am.

[2] And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of.

[3] And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and saddled his ass, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son, and clave the wood for the burnt offering, and rose up, and went unto the place of which God had told him.

[4] Then on the third day Abraham lifted up his eyes, and saw the place afar off.

[5] And Abraham said unto his young men, Abide ye here with the ass; and I and the lad will go yonder and worship, and come again to you,

[6] And Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering, and laid it upon Isaac his son; and he took the fire in his hand, and a knife; and they went both of them together.

[7] And Isaac spake unto Abraham his father, and said, My father: and he said, Here am I, my son. And he said, Behold the fire and the wood: but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?

[8] And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together.

[9] And they came to the place which God had told him of; and Abraham built an altar there, and laid the wood in order, and bound Isaac his son, and laid him on the altar upon the wood.

[10] And Abraham stretched forth his hand, and took the knife to slay his son.

[11] And the angel of the LORD called unto him out of heaven, and said, Abraham, Abraham: and he said, Here am I.

[12] And he said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou any thing unto him: for now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son from me.

[13] And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold behind him a ram caught in a thicket by his horns: and Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering in the stead of his son.
Of course since Jesus has fulfilled the Law, all of this of the past ages has been voided; it is no longer necessary. Yet, why was it required in the first place? Why did the God of the olden days need blood and guts to show worship?

Very strange to me, all these blood and gut offerings, when burnt, were a sweet savour to God. Check the meaning of the word ‘Savour.’ It affects the organs of taste, smell, flavor, scent etc. How pray tell, could the smell of burnt blood and guts be such a thing. What is that entity which is God, that required this? Why would a spiritual being demand something which is materialistic in nature having an affect to fleshly senses?

I can remember as a child what burned animal flesh smells like. We lived on a dirt poor farm, and somebody gave us a cow, which was sick and shortly after we got her, she died. My dad had no way of burying the animal, it was simply too large. So he and my brother drug the animal as far from the house as they could, and then covered the carcass over with brush, limbs and leaves, then set it all on fire.

The smell that came from that was the most sickening and repulsive odor that I have ever experienced. It lasted for ever it seemed, brush and limbs had to be continually placed in the fire, day and night for so awfully long. It took days, weeks and months before the odor finally was swept away from that awful place.

Try and imagine the odor that would permeate the atmosphere all around such activities. To try and feature this as something holy, is simply too far out from anything I could possibly imagine.

I am unable to imagine an entity that would enjoy, could call such as that a ’sweet savour.’ Yet, that is what the God of the Old Testament required, and wanted from those who claimed Him as their God.
. That property of a thing which affects the organs of taste or smell; taste and odor; flavor; relish; scent; as, the savor of an orange or a rose; an ill savor
The God of that day and age demanded so much from the people, it to me, is similar to what I picture a cruel dictatorship would be like. Under those conditions, it would be impossible to please God. There were so many stipulations, so many ways to ’sin’ other than just the original ten commandments that we are familiar with.

Here is an article which I feel points to this animal mutilation by these heavenly beings in this present day and age. I wonder if this practice of animal sacrifice has been initiated at any point yet, ordered by these gods, which reside in the heavens. Click on this link:

I have compiled a listing of the many different ways that those of that time had to give to God. Just simple sacrifices in finances, bread, food, etc., there are 413 scriptures describing what God expected. In simple financial offerings there are 286 scriptures detailing what He demanded. In the disgusting, repulsive, and sickening ‘burnt offerings,’ there are 99 scriptures describing how to kill and burn the different birds and animals, and these gave to the Lord a ‘SWEET SAVOUR.’

We should all give thanks to Jesus every day that we do not have to produce these ‘SWEET SAVOURS,’ in order to pay for sin. Jesus came to fulfill all these demands that His Father made of the people, by dying a very cruel death on a Cross, which covered all the sins of mankind in one grand slam.

We do not have to give animal, nor finances in order to be forgiven for sin, as Jesus has already paid the price, that God the Father demands of you and I. All we have to do, is ask Jesus to forgive our sins, and prove our sincerity by living by the precepts he outlined for us. To love Him above all else, and to love our neighbor as we love ourselves, two very simple rules to build our lives around. If we live by those two rules, all the rest are automatically sealed in our heart.

My personal belief and standard:

ROMANS 10:9-10

[9] The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.

[10] Is there any thing whereof it may be said, See, this is new? it hath been already of old time, which was before us.

There is no new thing under the sun, what was somebody’s past, is our future. Prophecy is the relating of past history.

Romans 8:
[29] For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

[30] Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified

[4] According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:
[8] The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.

We are eternal beings, being ordained before the foundation of the world. That is, those of us who have our names in the ‘Book of life, from the foundation of the world.’
